activeNET Tischtennis OPEN 2023

Games, fun, winners, baguettes, brownies, beer & of course ping pong...

At the beginning of March, together with our partner company NETsystems - Business Computer & Service GmbH we organised the first official "activeNET Table Tennis OPEN" in the "activeNET Basement Arena".

The motto of the group phase: 🔥 hot duels for advancement to the quarter-finals in best-of-5 mode - whereby the fight between organiser Andreas Reiterer and banana specialist Michael Fellinger went the full distance and was only decided in the 5th set with 14:12 in favour of the banana routinier. 🍌

Best-of-5 was followed by best-of-7 in the semi-finals - of course with a usual strong, fast and precise sport player hand of favourite Marko Klein. But NETsystem's secret weapon R. Hack also convinced with his controlled and virtuoso ping and pong and deservedly ended up in the final.

For the semi-finalists Michael Fellinger and Joachim Stelzer, who were also highly motivated and physically strong, it was unfortunately not enough to reach the grand final. Stelzer defeated Fellinger 4:0 and took home 3rd place for his team around coach Michael Wretschko.

In the grand final, all-time favourite Klein also clearly beat Reinhard - "The Hack"- Hack 4:0. The deserved winner lost only one set in the entire tournament and thus secured himself a place of honour in the ⭐"League of Legends Hall of Fame"⭐ of the activeNET OPEN.

Despite slight signs of fatigue 🥱 among the athletes due to the many fast matches over short and long distances, the enthusiastic spectators, fans and groupies in the "BIG Fan Area" were treated to top-class table tennis thanks to live video transmission 🎦 from the "Basement Arena".

The award ceremony and trophy presentation 🏆 also took place in the "BIG Fan Area", accompanied by filled baguettes, brownies and beer.

Many thanks again to organiser and traceNET-Head of Consulting Andi Reiterer – we are looking forward to many more high class and high fun tournaments!!!!
